The footage of him blowing away Sammy White in the Super Bowl still makes me smile. How White held onto the ball I'll never know.

Sad how Tatum's health had deteriorated this last decade.

My #32 OSU jersey is one of my prized possessions. Bummer.

Probably the most feared DB to ever put on the pads. You came over the middle against Tatum, you better have life insurance.

Could you imagine if Ochosucko or Wines Hard had to face Jack? They would piss their pants and go buy a Hummer.

The man had bad intentions on every hit.

Jack Tatum FTW.

I'm sure the apology from Braylon would cheer them up.

I like the fact he never apologized for what happened to Stingley. He did nothing wrong and had nothing to apologize for. People have made him out to be a villian for decades because of that incident.

Too bad he was a Raider and not a Brown. Although I do love watching the old film of him giving forearm shivers to other players, even Browns players.

You're right that he did nothing wrong. It wasn't a particularly vicious hit- just horrible luck that Stingley's body was in the position it was in. Tatum had far, far more ferocious hits. He put a shot on Denver tight end Riley Odoms that was about ten times more vicious than the Stingley hit.

IMO Steve Grogan deserves as much if not more blame for that injury. He threw a terrible pass in a terrible spot- right over the middle- and hung Darryl Stingley out to dry.

But Tatum didn't handle the aftermath well. I understand he felt he did nothing wrong, and he was right to feel that way. But he still should have gone to see the man.

Now that it's been a few days, did anyone find Tressell's comments puzzling?

Spielman would never say so himself, but tSV's commenst apply to him and not tatum.
"To be a Brown," receiver Josh Cribbs said, "is to be bestowed with dignity and honor, and to be a part of a rich history."
