Anyone Been to Rosenblatt/Omaha?

Last season for the CWS at Rosenblatt. You realize the number of Greats who have walked that field? $70 for a pack of 10 Gen Adm tix, good for any game you get there early enough to get in, including the Final.

13 hours and change to get there, a direct shot on 80W.

Split the drive, leave at 8pm Friday night, sleep a few hours while the other one drives, take in the two Saturday games and head back after the 7pm game. Home for lunch Sunday.

I like to think of it as driving 26 hours to see a historical site and a couple of games, but when it comes down to it I could watch two games and maybe extend it and watch four. You realize how much time I waste here? What about people who drive longer to see the World's Biggest Effing Hole out in Arizona/Colorado?

I'd rather have a ball game or two at the end of my ride.

It's a story to tell if nothing else. I clearly think Rich/TCF/STO should finance it, give me a video camera and then air it on STO when I get back. Me and Rob will document our trip halfway across the country. Beats the shit out of another 'Beer Money'.

$70 for the ten game Gen Adm book. Don't know if you can use them all at once or if they are designated for each game. Could probably get more info on that. Imagine you could sell what you don't use and I don't know if GA seats are available on a per game basis. One of those deals where it's probably cheaper to get tix as schools are eliminated.

Gas would be probably a total of $200-$250 divided up between however many people go. That's a guess based on my 4x4 Jeep though. Maybe someone else has something more efficient.

Get a gambler to go with you and stay in one of the casinos for free...well not really free... just dont have to pay them directly to stay. My dad isn't even a huge player, but he gets a free room in the Harrah's every time he drives out and comes back.

Yes. If You can use one GA pack any way you want. And I'd have to check on that. Pretty much $7 per game for GA if I'm reading it right.

General Admission (GA) tickets are non-guaranteed seats in the right outfield and left outfield bleachers. The approximate capacity is 5,400 for these aluminum, bench-style seats with seat backs. GA tickets are not designated for a specific session or date and these seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. As long as the ticket holder arrives early enough to be seated, the tickets are good for all games, including Finals games. If the GA section is filled to capacity, the gates will close. Gates may reopen after a few innings or ticket holders may watch the game on the large-screen TV in the plaza area. General admission tickets are non-guaranteed seats.

On days with two games, the stadium will be cleared between games. That means you are required to leave the stadium after the first game if you plan to also attend the second game. And you will need to stand in line again for re-entry into the second game. Please keep in mind that if you stay for the entire first game, it may be difficult to get in to the stadium for the start of the second game.

Rosenblatt floods if someone spills the XL Coke. One reason they're building another stadium in Omaha. So you'd definitely have time to chase whatever it is you're looking to chase. Personally I prefer to chase Maker's Mark with a 22oz Yuengling.

I'm also not opposed to chasing down a river flush or open ended straight when I'm feeling bold.

Now, this I've done and can highly recommend. Dyersville, IA near Dubuque. The bat and balls are there 24/7, as are random fathers and sons and college kids on pilgrimages. You stand in, take 10 hacks, run one out, then go shag flies for an hour with the rest of 'em. It's quite awesome.

I'm telling ya Rich, get Roach on the blower and knock this out. Sounds like at least 10 people would watch the video and that puts us ahead of the 700th replay of 'Wahoo! What a Finish!' that's probably airing in the near future.

For $750 (to cover expenses) and a borrowed video camera it could be theirs. They'll need to edit my F Bombs when Rob gets us lost in some corn maze just east of Des Moines. But ten minutes straight of footage while he's drunkenly snoring in the car will be worth it though.

And me plunking Tripods at the Field of Dreams and running into the corn when he gets pissed and chases me or me relieving myself in Rob's souvenir Moonlight Graham helmet will have them begging us for more episodes.

Trying to figure out whether to push the boys a little harder or just let them continue having fun. They actually seem to like watching these games. However I know that personally at the end of my Sr. year in high school I was pretty much done with sports. (only D3 schools calling --basketball). I would imagine these kids are in a meat grinder with practice/academics etc.

Just something really funky with the stride/rotation in the hips that stands out to me.

Home run swings are nice because usually you have to do something right, but it's better if you can watch some mis-hits, and it's pretty hard to get good views of a poorly hit ball. STO doesn't offer too many close-ups other than on HRs, etc unless Manning, on rare occasion, wants to point something out. If you find anything let me know because I'd love to hear LaPorta's swing broken down and analyzed. The good news is I'm not sure much has changed since he was called up other than him being sent back down.
