skatingtripods wrote:So if it's a Gen Adm ticket pack, let's say 4 guys go and we're going to 3 games. So we would only need 1 ticket pack + 2 extras? Since we'd need 12 tickets? So the tickets would be $70 + whatever two extras would cost? And that would be split 4 ways?
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET BOOK $70.00
10 Tickets Per Book - Maximum order, 10 Books. Order early, quantities limited.
General Admission (GA) tickets are non-guaranteed seats in the right outfield and left outfield bleachers. The approximate capacity is 5,400 for these aluminum, bench-style seats with seat backs. GA tickets are not designated for a specific session or date and these seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. As long as the ticket holder arrives early enough to be seated, the tickets are good for all games, including Finals games. If the GA section is filled to capacity, the gates will close. Gates may reopen after a few innings or ticket holders may watch the game on the large-screen TV in the plaza area. General admission tickets are non-guaranteed seats.
On days with two games, the stadium will be cleared between games. That means you are required to leave the stadium after the first game if you plan to also attend the second game. And you will need to stand in line again for re-entry into the second game. Please keep in mind that if you stay for the entire first game, it may be difficult to get in to the stadium for the start of the second game.

Trying to figure out whether to push the boys a little harder or just let them continue having fun. They actually seem to like watching these games. However I know that personally at the end of my Sr. year in high school I was pretty much done with sports. (only D3 schools calling --basketball). I would imagine these kids are in a meat grinder with practice/academics etc.

I was the same way. I didn't want anything to do with playing ball after high school. My roommate at BG (and teammate at Euclid in the mid 80's) walked on at BG as a catcher for a couple seasons til he got tired of it as well. Priority scheduling with classes but 6am weight work all year and 2pm practices for three months sucked the life out of him. IMO they've got to be kids too or there's a definite chance of burnout. I wouldn't let it last forever, but stepping off the accelerator doesn't hurt.
And I wanted to ask you if you have any break downs on Matt LaPorta's swing. Lead Pipe and I were talking about this about 6 weeks ago and I'm interested to know if you've looked at his swing and analyzed it. It scares me actually. Just something really funky with the stride/rotation in the hips that stands out to me.
Interested in your opinion.

Usually I am stuck when I get a swing clip of someone like LaPorta just snagging it off of mlb.com's site. Which means most of the time just home runs swings. Home run swings are nice because usually you have to do something right, but it's better if you can watch some mis-hits, and it's pretty hard to get good views of a poorly hit ball. Does STO show close-ups on a pop-up or chopper?
Having said that, there are several swings on the team I look at and just think uggh, and LaPorta is one of them. Marte is another that makes me cringe a bit. I haven't seen enough of the new blood to make any opinions but I did make clips of LaPorta at one time. It would be interesting to see if anything has changed much, mine should be from when he first got called up.
