Evan Spencer is commit 13 for the buckeyes!

Unread postby JCoz » Sat Jun 05, 2010 1:33 pm

Pretty surprising actually, crazy rumors were swirling about Tress and Spencers Dad not being the best of friends, and this commit kind of came out of nowhere.

Committed over offers from ND, Oregon, Neb, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa...

ESPNU 150 wide receiver Evan Spencer (Vernon Hills, Ill.) committed to Ohio State Saturday morning, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

Notre Dame, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin also offered the 6-foot, 178-pound prospect.

Both of Spencer's parents attended Ohio State and his father, Tim, played for the Buckeyes before moving on to the NFL.

Evan caught 14 touchdown passes during his junior campaign. This class is crazy good !!! It will be filled up by the end of summer you got to figure !!!

This commitment makes me happy...probably for all the wrong reasons.

Tim Spencer is overlooked as one of the best Buckeye running backs of all time. Even a few rabid OSU fans will trip up over the answer to who is the third all-time leading career rusher at OSU after Archie Griffin and Eddie George. Spencer (from Massillon, for those of you pups too young to remember) wasn't as big as George or as fast as Archie, but he was a tough as either of them.

Evan is obviously talented in his own right, with a great offer list. I'm banking more on his inheriting that tough streak from the old man.

So we've got Archie's kid (don't re-open that can of worms...please) and Tim's kid....

Does Eddie George have any boys?
