OU over Gerogetown was a bigger upset, IMO.

9th best team in the MAC beating Georgetown compared to the most overrated #1 overall in a long time losing to a team ranked a large portion of the season? Not even close.

2006 George Mason over both UNC (#10) and UConn (#2) have to be well up near the top. Like Pup said, UNI was ranked most of the year. GMU was #25 in late February, and ranked for the first time ever in the program's history.

I'm a bit worried about the matchup problem Singlar creates and the fact that Purdue has struggled to score offensively ever since Hummel has left.

also, I think a ton bares on JaJuan Johnson, when Purdue was facing a 4 game losing streak back in january, he played terribly, and usually when he shows up he has a shot.

that said, I think the final score will probably be...75-65 for Duke to be Kentucky's bitch in the final four.

Gus Johnson's stock is going way up. It's a cultural phenomenon, complete with Rome and Simmons spin support. He's always seemed a little over-excited to me, but I only knew him as a football guy who's coverage was blurred in my orange and brown glasses. I'm liking his college calls- excited, but descriptive enough in real time to add to the game. Savvier than I thought he could be.

I recall a line in "Monday Night Mayhem" when they let Keith Jackson go from MNF and said to him "Keith, you're going to become Mr. College Football"..

In the same sense, Gus Johnson is sort of similiar in title. Does anyone really associate Jim Nantz with college basketball? He deserves the promotion. He had a passion for the sport and would even make a pickup game between friends entertaining.

This clip is Exhibit A of why Gus Johnson is the single most overrated broadcaster in all of sports right now. The guy is literally screaming incoherently here. Look, I'm watching the goddamned game. I know it's dramatic and exciting, because I have eyes and a brain. I'm not a two-year old, I don't need this guy shrieking at me.

The fact that people actually consider this clown the best in the business is yet another example of how debased standards in our society- in this case, in sports broadcasting- have become. The valid criticism with him is that he tries to force excitement into games where there is little. But a game like yesterday....I thought he was fantastic. What would have improved the telecast as a whole would be the elimination of Len Elmore. That's one dog you could take out behind the barn and shoot. Christ Len, take ten minutes of your week to research the four teams you'll see. And, no, there isn't a need for your only observation is a double overtime game to be "these guys are starting to get tired"
