The Vikes are on a three game conference winning streak to pull their record to 3-2. They look for their first road victory in conference tomorrow on STO against undefeated Butler. Butler is tops in the conference at 5-0, three teams are tied at 4-2 and the Vikes are next at 3-2. A victory, although unlikely at this point, would really make things interesting at the top. A win on Saturday at Valpo (also on STO) to at least get a split on this Indiana swing is imperative.
Since Waters went to the four-guard lineup before the YSU game, the Vikings have been a different team and they are making big runs with their press. Against Butler, I don't think we have anybody to guard Gordon Hayward (D'Aundray Brown will give his best but he's giving up 4 inches) and if Pogue gets in foul trouble in the middle like he's prone to do (and with Matt Howard getting every call at home, that is likely), the Vikes will be in trouble because there is NOBODY on the bench to guard Howard.
