Helicopter parents have been on the rise for years now on college campuses. Ask asny middle of the road D 3 coach. They have now had their influence spill into big time college athletics where the HFC was once next to God almighty himself.

I dunno. Look at where these guys are getting run from: Kansas, Texas Tech, Southern Florida. Ten years ago you could've confused any of them with Duke and Vanderbilt. The allure of bowl money and TV time is too much, and they take a chance on a head coach who may be a few snares short a drum section but otherwise brilliant. Give 'em a few years and now they're vying for first in the polls. Its all good right? Only the success can't be invariably sustained, the glow fades and now the stories start coming out of the woodwork.

Hell, just look at DickRod after he moved up north.
