Heisman - who wins?

Unread postby Ziner » Tue Dec 08, 2009 1:17 am

They should just rename it the "most hyped QB with sufficient stats on a team in the championship game" trophy

McCoy wins, Ingram finishes 2nd, Suh should win, best player and is a beast. I am not that old, but I honestly dont remember a DL being as much of a game changer consistently in CFB

Call your shot

Tebow
McCoy
Ingram
Gerhart
Suh
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

McCoy gets it as a lifetime achievement award kind of thing.

McCoy had a stinker of a last game. Sure, he won, but if that pass had hung up for a second more, we'd be talking about Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl and a TCU/Cincy vs. 'Bama national title (and Florida/Texas Sugar Bowl).

Ingram had a good season, and a great last game. Undefeated, SEC bias, and was talked up. Without the clunker at Auburn (in which he was injured) I say he wins it no problem. He's still my pick to win.

Gerhardt's my dark horse and my bandwagon follower. Dude is a beast.

In fact, I wouldn't mind a Browns draft of Suh/Gerhardt as our #1/#2 picks. I could deal with that a lot.

So, I'm predicting this order:

Ingram
McCoy
Gerhardt
Tebow
Suh

I'm sensing a McCoy backlash and there will be enough "I think McCoy has it, but I'm voting Suh" to pull off the stunner. I sense a QB weariness, and in a wierd way McCoy will also be hurt by Teabow fatigue.

NFW is Colt McCoy the best FB player in BCS. Hell. Not even the most prolific QB in his own state and he has an offense that is his own personal vehical.

If I were betting, I'd bet on Ingram. Best O player on best team.

But gut says Suh in a contrary year.

I think they've got the right 5 guys there, however, I believe the fifth best player ILO, is going to win - McCoy.

The sheer number of votes in BEFORE this weekend proves that the 90% rule does not evade Heisman voters.

Suh is the only one who really deserves it, except maybe Gerherdt. No one but those two really carried their unit in that same way, and Suh more so. He is so dominant its not funny and the rest are there do to name recognition. Ingrahm is good, but I on;y saw his last two games, which were interesting.

Suh
Ingrahm
Gerhardt
McCoy
Tebow

But unfortunately, McCoy (or, God forbid, Tebow) will get it. The voters in just about every part of CFB are sheep.

The Hypeman Trophy became meaningless the year they gave it to Eric Crouch

...and how can Ingram get it due to "SEC bias" when Bama has never had a winner?

Ingram. He actually showed up in his team's conference title game. He was hurt against Auburn, which was his only real stinker. McCoy sucked against Nebraska, damn near cost them the game with poor clock management, and played like shit against Oklahoma in their only other real win (21/39 127 1/1). The only big named rout they had, OKSt, featured two pick 6s from the D to run up the score.

McCoy winning the Heisman would be embarrassing.

Shit. McCoy being enabled to "win" the Nebraska game was embarassing. Clutch , great kick from the UT FG kicker, but freak McCoy.

Chris Weber & Fred Brown wonder WTF he was doing.

Ohio State has 7 Heisman winners, same as Notre Dame and USC. The SEC as a whole has 9 (including 1 in the last 12 years) and Bama has 0. Get off it.

McCoy (will pull former Heisman winners votes)
Ingram
Gerhart (will pull some key West coast votes)
Tebow (Ingram will dilute the SE votes)
Sug

OJ will vote for Ryan Perrilloux

...so, is it a lifetime achievement award for McCoy, or a lifetime achievement award for Alabama?

I haven't seen enough of Ingram to know if he's the best, but he sure looked good Saturday...and JB, if there isn't a QB-weary public...there ought to be. 9 of the last 10, IIRC, and the only RB was Bush, (who stole it from Vince Young)

If it went to the best player in college football, Suh or Gerheart would win it. Unfortunately, that's not who wins it these days.

McCoy may have lost it with his dumbass attack Saturday night.

Ingram, and it's not even close.

I want McCoy to NOT get it, and then see if he cries.
