Final Four Predictions

Unread postby swerb » Sun Mar 11, 2007 3:30 pm

Post em here fellas. I know most of us fill out obscene numbers of brackets, but go on the record in this thread with your official Final Four prediction once the bracket is established at 6 PM.

Last year, a #10 seed, a #4 seed, a #3 seed, and a #2 seed.

Will we see that? Or something more like in '05 when #1 seeds Carolina and Illinois cruised to the final?

My initial reaction Elite 8 ... can't narrow it down yet:

1 Florida
3 Oregon

5 Virginia Tech
2 UCLA

4 Texas
2 Georgetown

1 OSU
3 A&M

As of this second, I'm thinking Kansas over either Oregon or Florida and OSU over Texas or Georgetown, with Kansas winning it all.

I picked Kansas to go to the Final 4 two years in a row, and they've F'd me two years in a row. If I'm going to make it three, I might as well let them F my whole bracket this time.

People loving the Ducks huh?
They could make the Final 4 or they might lose their 2nd game.
They are very streaky

I settled on:

#4 Maryland
#1 Kansas
#4 Texas
#1 OSU

I have OSU running the Big 12 gauntlet, topping Texas A&M (a tempting team to pick, but their 2-5 record in games decided by 4pts or less--1-5 if you make it 3pts or less--scares me) in the Elite 8 and then Texas in the Final 4 before finally losing to Kansas in the Championship game.

I've decided that Kansas' past two disappointing years in the tournament could turn out to be a positive, as they ought to have the mindset that no game is a gimmee early on and they can't take anyone for granted. The poise they showed going down big to Texas early and then slowly working their way back before pulling out the close win was very impressive. And they're pretty freaking talented. Sounds like a serious champ contender to me.

I going with the scenario that has never happened before, all 4 # 1 seeds.

This year there is no obvious hands down best of the best team, however the top 5 teams are DEFINITELY better than everybody else...plus it has to happen some time.

Mine:

Florida
UCLA
G-Town
A/M

They should have set it up with the possibility of a rematch from last year.

It is boring, but I think it is right. No sleepers and no cinderellas this year.
Coming from a Wolverine, we're the football equivalent of a formerly abused wife of a meth addict who just remarried the safe nice guy. We're just glad we have someone who's aware that it's a rivalry and that tackling on defense is integral. Baby steps.

Sure didn't. Too much chalk this year. I only did one and 3 of the 20 people pretty much went higher seed through the Sweet 16. I have been playing catchup ever since and really needed it to be Texas Gerogetown in the Elite 8 to have a shot. Of course the best player in the country's team shit the bed in round 2 and I have been cursing Kevin Durant ever since.
