Wright State beats Butler. They're in. So is Butler still.

That squeezes someone out. And makes it a little tougher for the teams on the outside looking in.

I've got Drexel getting bumped out.

Also ... last night finally saw the highlights of the end of the Colonial title game between VCU and George Mason. What an ending! That little guard for VCU, that was amazing. Like 4 steals and coversions on the other end to lead VCU back from 6-7 down witn 90 seconds left.

22 wins, 9-7 in the Big East, and that ginormous win over UCLA on the resume.

I've always liked Huggins. Ohio guy, made his bones as a Buckeyes assistant.

Also, haven't had a chance to see K State play this year. And I think it would make for some good drama as an appealing 1st rd matchup in the tourney, or even moreso if they made a run.

The way he was let go at Cinci ... coming to K St, who has sucked in hoops my whole life, getting them in the dance his 1st year.

The poster boy for hypocricy in college athletics. When you string together a 6 year graduation rate of zero and actually get credit for helping the inner city youth of the country, man, how did he accomplish that?

If he never won another game, I'd be ok with it.

Arkansas and NC State have chances to get in the field tomorrow. K State and Stanford are my last two teams in the field right now, cheering their asses off for Florida and UNC.

Back to back wins AT Nova and AT Cuse earlier this year are impressive.

In the end though, they lost twice to Old Dominion ... once by 27, once by 10. Also Drexel was 13-5 in the Colonial, ODU 15-3. Both on the bubble ... it would be tough to leave out ODU (who also beat Georgetown) and include Drexel.

In the end, I think both get left out.

I agree Swerb, and here is where I have a problem with the selection committee in general.

They are going to take the #8 team from the ACC the #8 team from the Big East and the #5 Team from the Pac-10, not to mention teams like MSU from the Big Ten and they will omit the Drexel's and ODUs of the world. Frankly, due to the parity in college hoops, good mid major teams are as good or better than the middle of the majors (it is confusing verbage, think about it and it makes sense), yet the middle of the majors are consistently given the benefit of the doubt. See GaTech or MSU for examples.

I agree, especially after Mason last year.

I was never a proponent of this, but I now advocate increasing the field by three teams to 68 teams, with one play in game in each region.

When you look at the field this year, and the types of teams that are going to be ommitted ... these teams have every bit the resume of the Mason team that went to the Final Four last season.

Teams like Drexel and ODU, West V ... Air Force and Missouri State who have top 40 RPIs. An Ok St team that went through a tough stretch, but is playing like one of the top 30-35 teams in the country right now.

You shouldn't have to leave teams like that out.

I agree 100%. Giving bids to major conference teams who finish in the middle of their conference instead of mid-majors like Drexel, ODU, ect. makes the regular season even less significant than it already is.
