Hansbrough's nose broke in game vs Puke

Unread postby Guest » Mon Mar 05, 2007 1:53 pm

Did anyone else see this game?
It looked clear to me that Henderson tried to drill Hansbrough with his elbow
He made zero attempt to go for the ball.
Billy "shit" Packer kept saying there is no way it was on purpose
I don't think he could be more wrong.
I know what Rich and MSwerb will say but any other opinions?
Looked dirty as hell to me.

Anyone who has ever put on high tops knows that it was intentional.

Come on ... completely unintentional.

And even if it wasn't, that's what Roy Williams gets for still having him in the game.

Nobody ever gets hit like that in basketball by accident. He intentionally hit him and it was intentionally hard. He probably did not mean to break his nose.

Let me break down his thought process.....We are having a tough year….. and I am frustrated we are losing to our rival again.…. and you just got another rebound….. and hey why are you still in this game…. no way you are scoring again..... here comes a hard foul to the head.

I suppose Turkey Jones did not intend to drop Bradshaw on his head either?

Like I said, I knew what Dick's reply would be and MSwerb will say the exact opposite.
I will agree 100% with jdrake and also MSwerb because I know his thoughts already.

I'll go so far as to say coach K gave the order.

Not in such a way as "hey go elbow Hansbro in the nose" but something along the lines of "you guys are playing like pussies, I cannot believe you are getting physically dominated like this, show some backbone and get tough out there".

Intentional, yes.

Intentional to injure somebody, I doubt it. Injurying somebody rarely goes through ones head in a bball game.

I think it was a intentional cheap shot to send a message that went awry.

My boy Tyler is a badass, he was ready to kill someone after getting up. I hate Dook and and their fans (Dick is the ONE exception, family comes first)
I would be the first one in line to beat on ANY Dook player, coach, or person wearing the WRONG shade of blue. Gerald Henderson definately came down hard with his elbow, what else would you be trying to accomplish coming down like that. To me, he had NO CHANCE IN HELL AT THE BALL. The person who is in an awkward position is Wayne Ellington, Henderson's high school teammate. Lets hope this puts a fire under Tyler's ass as my boys enter the tournament.
I will also predict that Henderson will not score a single point in their opening game in the ACC tournament.

If he was trying to block the ball with his elbow, I'd buy it.
It was flat out dirty.

Did Duke have their good players on the bench?

Being on the floor is never a good enough reason to receive a cheap shot.

That is Isaiah Thomas reasoning

Does Dook have any good players? Ronald McRoberts can not pass, and Greg Paulus is a turd, Scheyer is a girl, Demarcus Nelson can't stand up straight, And not to mention that every time I see that goddamn coach of theirs, I want to serve up a beatdown. Needless to say
