The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. And at Ohio State, He Giveth some more.

Robo, Hartline, Small, Lyons, Dukes, etc. Someone will fill his shoes. My guess is Hartline steps right into that slot and does a fine job.

According to scouts and Ted Ginn Sr, Ray Small is a bigger playmaker than Ginn Jr.

As for Pittman, that one kind of hurts. He was better than he ever got credit for.

Pittman will hurt, but he needs to go. Once Chris Wells gets the pass pro, we will wonder why he didnt start this year. I like Pitt alot and I think he is underrated, but I cannot remember the last time Ohio State had a running back in the backfield, and I said, "that guy is a future pro bowler." Probably Eddie George and Robert Smith.

Yeah, if Wells is ready to take over, Pittman should not be much of a loss at all. The WRs will be a big loss, but given the QB is gone, they would have been much less effective anyway. Looks very much like we could go more with a pro-set offense next year possiubly? Put a fullback in front of Wells and mash and use 2 WR sets?

Next year will be a reloading year, a year to restablish the offense. I think 2008 is the year they make another run for a title, as the defense and offense should be more stable and have several 2-3 year starters by then.

Im not so sure, they are saying Tressel is very high on this Henton kid. He may turn him loose.

Antonio Henton QB 6-2 210 4.6 Fort Valley, Ga.
Comments: Passed for 1,890 and 29 touchdowns as a senior and was named the 2005 Georgia Offensive Player of the Year. Missed first three games of his senior year and his team lost all three games, but he came back in week four and Peach County went 12-0 the rest of the way to win the Georgia AAA state title. Considered one of the top multi-threat quarterback prospects in the nation. Rushed for 900 yards and nine touchdowns in two years as the starting quarterback. Honorable mention all-state as a junior when he passed for 1,810 yards and 19 touchdowns with just five interceptions.

Man, Gonzo couldn't get open to save his ass against the Gators without Teddy lined up across the field from him. It will be interesting to see where Gonzo goes in the draft. This is a pretty good year for WR's.

Sad to see him go though. After bursting on the scene with the big grab in the Michigan game last year, he quickly became one of my favorites this year. Did the kid drop a ball all season?

And Furls, you got any info/links on that RB recruit you were telling me about on the phone?

Saine ... I think that was his name? Robert Smith clone you called him.

his name is Brandon Saine. He not only has "insaine" speed, but at 6', 210 lbs, is bigger than Pitt (considerably).

(I found this particularly interesting: As a junior he broke the all-time Ohio state record with a time of 10.38 in the 100-meter dash.)

Also of interest, won the 100 and 400 last year and competed in the 200. He said that he was not fully recovered for the 200 finals (from the 400 finals) and ran a disappointing 22.08. In the preliminaries he ran the best 200 in the meet at 20.74.

FYI, 10.38 100m dash is nationally competitive.

Gonzalez appears to me to be one of the most level-headed kids I've heard speak in a loooooooonnnnnnggggggg time.

I hope he makes it big.

Unless he ends up on the Browns.
