Hands down, Antoine Winfield.

Just a bad ass CB. Brought the wood like he was 6'4, 235.

Honorable mention?

Steve Wisniewski, Troy Smith, Eddie George, Mike Doss, Orlando Pace, Shawn Springs, Chris Gamble, AJ Hawk, Mike Nugent, Malcolm Jenkins, LeCharles Bentley, Matt Wilhelm, Nail Diggs, Michael Jenkins.

Honorable honrable mention to the three guys that made me fall in love with OSU football: Keith Byars, Cris Carter, and Chris Spielman.

Wiz has to be on anyone's list who knows him. How about Alonzo Spellman.

How Eddie George is not at the top of every list is beyond me. He was the single baddest running back I have ever seen in C-bus and that says something. He played his balls off and ran hard every play.

Joe Germaine (played college baseball against him in Arizona, even played against him the day he commited to OSU)

Winfield, Kat, Hawk, Doss all get mention.

He was a beast. And he had heart. And he was a class act.

Raymont Harris is a guy who won't make most people's list, but he was a warrior. Dude was all heart. His performance against BYU in the Holiday Bowl was simply amazing.

My favorite: Chic Harley

If you have ever walked into Ohio Stadium and beheld the wonder of it, then you must be a fan of Chic Harley. He is the man that single handedly brought the fans and excitement to Ohio State football. The fact that Ohio Stadium stands is a testament to his play.

My favorite player that I have seen a bunch of film on: Jack Tatum.

Ever see him hit? That ends the discussion right there.

My favorite player that I have ever seen play personally: Troy Smith.

Everyone loves a winner and Troy Smith wins on the biggest stages at the biggest times. SHould he lead Ohio State to a title in 10 days he will be the best QB in the history of Ohio State and probably one of the top 3-4 in Ohio State history.

I love Archie. Without a doubt he is one of, if not THE, greatest Buckeyes of all time. I didn't include him because he played before I was born. Same with Tatum.

That is why I broke my players into categories.

I like Archie alot, I think he is among the greats and you could obviously make a case for him as your favorite, or the best ever. Personally, I love defense. If you love defense than you would have to go with Tatum.

The hit that Tatum put on OJ in the 1969 Rose Bowl was legendary, remember, Simpson was one of the BEST college running backs ever. After that hit, Simpson was not the same and went on to turn the ball over three times in the game. I love the ferocity that Tatum played with. Although he played long before I was born, i have seen a TON of footage of him.

Furls, did you ever read Tatum's autobiography, They Call Me Assassin? It's one of the best books I have ever read. There is a whole chapter in the book about his days at Ohio State under Woody.

Agreed. There is a picture of him hanging on the wall at the Damon's on Olentangy. Dude is in his stance probably waiting for the snap in his away uni and his helmet is covered in buckeye leaves. Amazing photo.

For me it ranks up there with Eddie & ND and Boston pointing at a UM defender as he's about to score a TD.

Clarett would get a vote from me for honorable mention.
