Laurinaitis Named Nations Top Defensive Player

Coming from a Wolverine, we're the football equivalent of a formerly abused wife of a meth addict who just remarried the safe nice guy. We're just glad we have someone who's aware that it's a rivalry and that tackling on defense is integral. Baby steps.

What a year this kid had. I'm not sure if I posted it in here, but I was worried about the Buckeyes LB corps heading into the season, and about Laurinaitis specifically. I didn't know if he was big and physical enough to play MLB in the Big Ten.
This season, Laurinaitis showed an absolutely inate ability to always be around the ball, and then to take it away from opposing offenses once he got to it.
Incredible season, well deserved award.
