Been all over ESPN this morning.
While I agree with Furls that West V has been overhyped all season, IMO there is no questioning that this guy is one of the top recruiter/coach combos in the country.
As Herbie stated on Gameday, when Bama is Bama, they rule the recruiting in that area. I could see Rodriguez returning the Tide from the depths of obscurity to national prominence in 2-3 years much in the same way Stoops and Butch did at Oklahoma and Mia Fla.

The Alabama job is not as good as it used to be, but it is still better than WVU. I am not so sure that Bama is even a second or third choice in the deep south. Auburn and LSU have done very well there as of late and if FSU rights the ship they could make life harder for an Alabama coach.
Rodriguez would do well there, but I think 'Bama was hoping for a BIG NAME GUY.
