Eric Gagne officially a FA

I still have to form an opinion on this one.

Clearly, for a 2-3 year period, he was one of the most dominant closers in MLB history over that short stretch. Since coming back from his injury, he has not been anywhere close to being the same guy.

Four questions for those that know more than me.

1. What's he gonna cost?
2. Can he recapture the magic of '02-'04?
3. What was the nature of his arm injury and where is he at with it?
3. Is it worth the risk to find out?

does he resign w/ the Dodgers on 'the cheap" but with an incentive laden contract, or is he done in LA?

if i knew he was truly done in LA - i would sign him in a minute - it would be another Millwood type deal, but it would be worth it

Depending on his health, I go all out to get him. If he checks out health-wise, this guy should still be a top of the line closer.....maybe not top 2 like he was for a few years there, but still in the top 5-10.

I'd sign him, but also try to acquire another pitcher in FA (Borowski) or trade to back him up as a closer. The backup could be our setup man.
