Vasquez Is Gone for Good

Unread postby Jennifer » Fri Aug 11, 2006 5:44 pm

The Tribe today recalled Vasquez and designate Mota for assignment.

It appears that the Tribe decided to designate Mota a day early (Guthrie will be recalled after tonight's game or tomorrow's first game) because of the ankle sprain to Inglett. When Guthrie is recalled Inglett will be DLed or Vasquez sent back down.

I wonder if Vasquez is sent down whether he will be a September callup?

I'm also wondering whether the Tribe will sign him to a minor league deal if he clears waivers and is willing to stay with the Tribe. My opinion is that the Tribe has not given up on him as a potential reliever in 2007 if he is not too expensive.

Is Ramon Vazquez the real-life version of Jason Voorhies (minus the machete and fear he brings)? Does he ever die and go away?

Apparently another reason Vasquez was recalled was Luna was unavailable because he was in St. Louis for the birth of his child.

As expected Guthrie replaces Vasquez on the 25 man roster. However, Vasquez instead of being demoted was designated for assignment which means that all of you wishing the Tribe rid themselves permanently of Vasquez have gotten your wishes fulfilled.

Think this caused a little tension on the pillow for Shapiro and Wedge? How did they go to bed at night being mad at each other?
