of getting "prospects" for veterans! We are the farm team for all the other major league teams. We claim to have the best minor league players -- who gives a shit, I want the best "major" league players so we can have a chance at winning. We never seem to pull off that big trade where we benefit!!!

We groom the prospects, they play for us a few years, then they bolt for greener pastures.

Indians suck and that will not change in our lifetime! Thank you Swerbs Blurbs for letting me vent.

The problem is - Wickman is 37 years old and more than likely in his last major league season. The going rate for relievers isn't much more than what the Indians got for him. There really isn't anything to complain or vent about here.

No to mention that Pluto said that Wicky would not approve a move to a team that he would not close. It left two teams that are in the playoff hunt who need a closer: Atlanta and Milwaukee. Not much bargaining power for Shapiro there.

Even so, they received a good player in return. I'd much rather get a player like Ramirez than ML filler like a Vazquez or a mediocre AAA guy like a Jason Dubois.
