Johnson released, Sowers on his way

Unread postby consigliere » Tue Jun 20, 2006 4:09 pm

Johnson was released today, and Sowers will be called up soon. Since Johnson just pitched last night, his spot in the rotation does not come up for a few days. As a result, they added Joe Inglett to the roster today for more OF/IF depth since Michaels is ailing.

They also optioned out Guthrie and called up Mujica. I'm almost as excited to see Mujica as I am Sowers. Guy has 38+ shutout innings in the minors this year. Guy is fearless and a competitor on the mound.

With Mujica, Inglett and Sowers likely to be here awhile, we are finally starting to see the movement toward 2007. hell, I'd contend we are actually better right now after these moves.

All that is left would be to drop Mota and callup Andy Brown.....drop Laker and callup Shoppach, and trade boone and add Marte. Maybe trade off Perez so Garko can play.
