Bad baserunning

Unread postby consigliere » Sat Apr 29, 2006 10:30 pm

Geeze. Is that the team mantra this year? Already we've seen some horrible base-running by guys like Michaels and Peralta, etc.....then tonight, we go from 1st and 3rd with none out to a runner on 1st with 2 outs and no runs scored because the guy at 3rd got caught in a rundown, and the guy who was on 1st got caught in a rundown between 2nd and 3rd.

Then, in the 9th, with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Holly hits a line drive right at 2B, yet Grady is running halfway down to second....

What gives?

I'm growing sick and tired of this team being fundamentally challenged.....they can't bunt, they get picked off bases, all of a sudden we can't throw strikes, etc. WTF were we doing all Spring when they supposedly worked on this shit?

And, you know what? This fundamental BS starts with the manager? He is the epitome of bad fundamentals when it comes to managing. If the guy lacks any ability to manage a game because he is clueless....how the fuck can the same guy coach guys to be more fundamentally sound? It's like having Manny Ramirez teaching players how to run bases, or Mickey Tettleton how to work a count.

Sorry for the rant. As somewhat of a Wedge supporter before this season began, I've about had it with him and his entire coaching staff.
