JD settling into bully role

Unread postby consigliere » Thu Apr 27, 2006 10:36 am

From today's PD:

Davis, working with a 5-1 lead against Ramirez, hit 99 mph during the at-bat.

"Tonight was big for J.D. and big for us," said Wedge. "The way we've been utilizing him, we've been working him toward the back end of the bullpen to go with Mota."

I think it was Buff who said JD is Eric Plunk....that comp is spot on. Guys who throw it 99 MPH but also have some nice breaking stuff like JD are rarity, just need to harness the control and work on the confidence.

JD is really showing something, and I think might be a positive that comes out of the early rash of bully injuries.
