Mar 27 - According to The Dallas Morning News, the Rangers have been talking to other teams about trading outfielder David Dellucci.

Dellucci, a left-handed hitter, will earn $900,000 this season. The Angels and Phillies are among the teams seeking lefty bats.

A bit pricey for a backup-slash-platoon partner, but way, way better than Todd Freaking Hollandsworth.

Let me guess: Reasons 2 through 2,314 = "Ryan Church is Available"?

I don't know how to read that situation. There's something going on besides just preferring Watson to Church (which no one does). Bowden said he wants Church to play every day, because he's really good ... I'm confused. I wonder if Chris Kahrl's conjecture about prostheletizing holds any water.

(Of course, Reason 1 is "He's Todd Hollandsworth.)

Approximately 900 of the reasons are permutations of that. (The word "suck" is involved in many of them.)

Brandon Phillips + Dubois/Hollandsworth for a Delucci type

Maybe even Delucci himself. Rangers have Wilkerson, Mench, Matthews, Nix in the OF and Texieria and Nevin locked in at 1b and DH.
