07-18-07 game

Unread postby lovsgrady » Tue Jul 17, 2007 6:56 pm

After the way yesterdays game went, what antics can we expect tonight, and with the rain...this shall be interesting. Let's hope Wedge proves himself, and doesn't put out some of our weak bull pen help.

1-2-3 2nd for Byrd.

This is where I don't say I have a good feeling about tonight.

1-2-3 3rd for Byrd, although all three weren't far away from being extra bases off the wall (esp. Thome).

AND fielding his position well.

I wish we had 3 1/2 more years of Millwood instead of this.

Now you guys did it.

When will you learn. Please do not compliment the guys with an Indian on his sleeve standing in the middle of the dirt circle that is raised up.

I'll take the jinx on that one.

Left the game last night at 11-2 (due to being there with a 7-month-old, not giving up on a game), and now this.

Knuckle ball pitcher with one wild pitch already in the inning and you send a guy on a "SF" which is essentially nothing more than a pop up. Rick Manning on STO a nano-second after the ball left the bat "That won't do it."

Obviously, he knew Nixon was up next.

Benny made the right choice. He knew Nixon was up next, and that he might as well take a chance.

Jason Michaels must some tyoe of X-Man vision or something. Great, and very ballsy, baserunning. Not only on his hit, but on Garko's flare as well. How he scored on that I'll never know, and it wasn't even close. Pretty Fucking Cool.

May I ask the naive question here? With no outs and a man on second, you can either:

1) Pitch to the opponent's hottest hitter, the man who tied the game in the ninth off your closer
2) Intentionally walk him, knowing his run means absolutely nothing and that he's tremendously slow, and pitch to either a mineral (Rouse) or a guy who's gone stone cold (Barfield)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing, but that seemed like the most obvious IBB since Borowski faced Alex Rodriguez.

i agree 100% but these are just the kind of choices and decisions made by ozzie and the white sox that got their team their "potent" 41-51 record

Yeah, I have no idea what Guillen was doing there. Garko without a doubt should have gotten the IBB. Looks like Guillen is already on vacation.

BTW, how cool is it to have a knuckleballer as a reliever? I think that is pretty cool. Talk about screwing up the other team for an inning or two, which is what Kraeger did to us.

Also, Michaels with a do or die chance there.....that ball was almost caught by Uribe.

Also, I'm ready for Mastny to get shipped out.
