westbrook has no clue were the strike zone is tonight


and he is gonna get hammered if he keeps it up



we need to get off to a good start int he second half ... especially against a terrible team like the royals !

Don't be silly: he's got the "meatball" in the strike zone just fine.

(Man, that's lame. It's the ROYALS, for fuck's sake.)

Hey, maybe Jake's settled down finally. (1-2-3 4th)

Y'know, I remember years ago Orel used to say he liked pitching on short rest because he'd be tired and wouldn't overthrow his sinker, making it more effective. I wonder if long rest is exactly what Jake doesn't need.

Manning's saying the same thing--he had 9 days off, and it's too much rest.

Jake's been in the groove the last 2 innings, now it's time to go to work on Perez.

I was the same for Casey Blake when he was a pitcher in the 90's. Too much rest too much strength.

Serious question, don't the baseball gods that wear pitching coaches unis know this, and know it ahead of time? This shouldn't shock these guys when it happens and shouldn't they adjust the rotation accordingly?

If they knew Jake had 9 days rest shouldn't they have started him warming up when the gates opened?
