Trade IDEA with Cinci

Unread postby MadThinker88 » Sun Jul 08, 2007 12:16 am

 After watching Baseball Tonight I was thinking and came up with the following trade idea.

Cinci sends to Cleveland: P David Weathers and OF Josh Hamilton

Tribe sends to the Reds: P Jason Stanford, OF Franklin Gutierrez, a catching prospect (either Toregas or Max Ramirez) and one of the struggling bullpen arms (F Cabrera/ Eddie Mujica/ Tom Mastny).

So, what are your thoughts out there in cyberspace on this one??

My thought is we get Weathers for that price, but no way we get Hamilton too.

Hamilton is playing as well as he is, and hasn't even been around the game for three years. If the cat stays straight. MONSTER.

I'd like to get that Brandon Phillips guy from the Reds.

Maybe we can deal Jeff Stevens and a dozen lightly-used game balls back to the Reds for BP.

If I recall correctly that's all it cost the Reds to fleece the team they got him from.

I have no problem with Barfield. Shit, I'd like to have Phillips over Peralta and then I'd have had Peralta AND Kouzmanoff to trade with.

The Phillips trade was beyond horrific when you consider they kept Ramon Vazquez instead and got zero from the guy who as considered the jewel of that Colon trade.

And he's put up better numbers than the guys on the NL all-star team ahead of him.
Yes, he was an a-hole. Yes, he was full of himself. But he was 21 and 22. That shit would have been beaten out of him by failure in a short time.
They shit the bed badly on that deal and it makes me sick every time I think of it.

Peaker -I agree big time..was jsuting busting balls. An infield of Victor at 1st, Barifeld at 2nd, BP at SS and Peralta at 3rd would be pretty solid.

I know you were busting balls. And I agree that lineup wuld be nice as it puts Blake in RF which, while not ideal, is better than watching Nixon out there.
