50 - 32 2 game lead...

going into Detriot for a three game series. You have to love the way this team has rebounded after a tough start to June. Not to state the obvious but this series against the Tigers is huge. We could distance ourselves a bit before the break. I think we may have added to more OF'ers in the mix. Hope to see more of them even when Delluci returns.

I'm just hoping to win the series, but imagine if we can sweep them again. They would be 5 back and going into Boston, while we get Toronto.

I'm not counting on a sweep but I want a win. Detroit has been bad at home this year while the Tribe has been decent on the road. A sweep would be fantastic and could lead to a 5+ game lead at the All-Star break.

We need to hope the AL wins the All-Star game AND then the Tribe needs to surge to take the #1 seed in the AL. The Tribe is playing so well at the Jake this year that homefield advantage would be HUGE in the postseason, especially with the fans waking up and being pumped, packing in the stadium.

A sweep would be amazing, and it's really not all that far off. The Tiger's ain't too hot right now, and look at the pitching-

Robertson vs Byrd
4-6 (4.82) 7-3 (4.67)

Rogers vs Westbrook
2-0 (.075) 1-3 (6.10)

Verlander vs Sabathia
9-3 (3.18) 12-2 (3.20)

A solid arm against their weakest arm. Our returning injured vs. theirs. Our ace vs. theirs.

I think we should win the first game, Byrd was decent in his first outing against Detroit.

Second I am iffy on, but Rogers has done well 2 starts, and Westbrook is coming back. Rogers can't hold onto it forever.

Third will be interesting, and Sabathia really has a chance to prove his worth to Leyland. What is a better way to say 'START ME IN THE ALLSTAR GAME' then beating the coach's ace?

Give me 2 games and I will be content.

I think he should grow The Porn Stache (tm) back, just to thumb his nose at his critics ...
