Jon V (Cleveland, OH): Any chance the Indians move Peralta to third and bring up Asdrubal Cabrera to play SS next year? Marte is brutal at AAA.

Keith Law: That's the move I would make - Cabrera's a tremendous defensive shortstop, and I think Peralta is below-average there.

Yeah, about the scoring issue. I don't know how Peralta doesn't get an error in the 9th today on Crawford's one hopper just to the left of second. Of course he subsequently saved Shoppach's butt by catching his off target throw to second and applying the tag, but still...

Maybe his stats are a bit skewed.

It's true, they are kind to him at the Jake. I'm liking the idea of a move to 3B more and more. The more I watch him the more I think he can at least be average defensively while focusing on building more bulk to enable him to be more of a power hitter. I really think he can be a 30HR man at third base with a nice average, OBP, etc. If that's the path they choose then they need to move Marte while there's still value out there.
