According to Rototimes:

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports that the Tigers have traded Mike Maroth to the Cardinals for an as yet undisclosed return.

The Cardinals were clearly looking for rotation help, signing Tomo Ohka to a minor league deal after Braden Looper joined Chris Carpenter and Mark Mulder on the disabled list. The trade clears way for Kenny Rogers to rejoin the Tigers' rotation.

So long as he was sent away and not for Albert Pujos

BTW, doesn't this mean the Tigers are counting upon Chad Durbin continuing to pitch well?? I thought Leyland was smarter then that.

They get Rogers and Robertson off the DL, so I don't think Durbin is a crucial piece.

Maroth has given up 7 HRs in only 34 innings in their spacious home park. I wonder what St Louis is dealing here to acquire him? My guess is Joe Mather, a first baseman having a good season in AA at age 24 and stuck behind Albert.

Isn't he way too old to play in the bigs? I mean, he starred in Leave it to Beaver in the 60's!
