I like this lineup setup tonight. Vic 3rd, Haf 4th, and Honny 5th.

I have decided that Travis Hafner may be injured. He just isn't pulling the ball much this year. And when he does, he grounds out. Check out his hit chart for Jacob's Field:

I think the All-Star break will be the best thing that can happen to Hafner. I think he'll bounce back and be a monster in the second half.

Nixon is on a proverbial tear, 2 hits........in one game. Here we come AL batting crown.

I think Howard might be better suited as a DH.

P.S. Consig, I think you're absolutley right, the ASG can't come any sooner for Hafs.

Wow. Talk about an explosion by the offense. Lord knows they had been backed up for a few weeks....the Phillies pitching staff provided us the enima we needed.

Trot Nixon???? Musta been hearing us talking bad about him today. Good. Maybe tomorrow we should talk bad about Hafner.

We have two of the best gamers in baseball in Sizemore and Barfield - both hustle to make this inning happen.

I wasn't watching the game in the 6th (>_<) but after I saw the score I looked at Gameday for a recap and I read that there was an Injury delay, who was it?

Musta been hearing us talking bad about him today. Good. Maybe tomorrow we should talk bad about Hafner.

Why stop there? The Indians need to hit more. Way more.

Enjoy Friday's record breaking game-

Leiber left with a leg injury.

Anyway, I think it is time for Mastny to get on the shuttle to Buffalo. He just can't throw strikes right now.

I have to believe now that when Jake is activated, that Mastny may be the one optioned out and we keep Mujica up here or also send down Mujica and calllup Matt Miller.

it would be nice if mastny would get us through an inning without letting the other team right back in the game

2 outs and he gives up a hit and a walk and he gets behind victorino and surrenders a double... huge shock ! NOT !

I love Raffy Perez. Man, first Carmona picks up the starting staff....could another youngster in Perez be picking up the bullpen? Perez could be huge as this season progresses.

Hafner sucks. Trade him for some stale chips and the pizza that Red Sox fan threw. Don't even wait until the end of the game. Better yet, just cut him.

Just an observation....

Barfield is on a pace to hit like 5 HR but drive in 85 or so runs.

I agree, Con. Perez is buying us time and saving us some cash. The pen looked like it needed major reconstructive surgery a few weeks ago (and really all season). I'd like to see us pick up a good hand somewhere and option Mastny. I think Stanford will make a great long reliever/spot starter.

What do we do if Jake and his 6 million/yr get shelled on Sunday...and on Thursday...and then again on his next start?

Perez, Betancourt, Fultz, and Joe B are keepers (and Fultz is not doing that well). Cabrera is someone I am concerned about. Mastny needs to spend the rest of the year in AAA. Mujica - we'll see. Miller - ditto. Koplove should be back by August, no? Stanford, as mentioned, should pay off well.

Here is the part where I don't say anything good about Rafael Betancourt because I fear myself.

So, four-run lead: if we don't score, do we bring in Lord Joedemort anyway?

Edit: apparently not.

I demand that Mastny, Borowski, and Fultz all change their names to "Rafael."

Rafael Borowski works. Just like Jose Smith. Or John Suzuki.

Man, what a night for me to choose to go to the game, lol. That 6th inning was fun as hell. We didn't even notice until we'd batted around that there was still only 1 out. J-Mike made both the 1st and 2nd outs in that inning, lol.

And pretty much everyone in the stands was completely lost as to what was going on with that Martinez hit-with-the-throw-to-first thing. I just heard the explanation and it makes sense now, lol. Though it still sucked and the ump was an ass.
