Braves vs. Indians Series

Unread postby pup » Fri Jun 15, 2007 7:28 pm

Wow. First inning run for CC.

Pronk hitting 5th, with Blake in the 3 hole and Delucci hitting 2?

And pronk ends a threat in the 1st by grounding into a DP :x  :-x

About Pronk . . .

http://www.hno.harvard.edu/gazette/2002 ... erone.html

Married men, whether fathers or not, have markedly lower testosterone levels than single males, according to one of the first studies of how the hormone changes when men marry and become fathers. Results of the study, done by a team of Harvard University anthropologists, increase our knowledge of human biology and may have implications for so-called "male menopause."

Researchers have long suspected that levels of the hormone largely responsible for fighting, competing, and mating decrease when men settle down and start a family. Other studies have shown that testosterone begins to decline shortly after marriage, but surges upward when unions end in divorce.

DD hitting in the 2 hole is extremely silly and it's almost as if Wedge is reading these boards and laughing at us all. The batting orders in Maimi were bad. He is guaranteed to put 2/3 stooges into the lineup every night. The 2 hole, in my book, is reserved for contact hitters and those who work the plate (which Blake is doing). DD is always capable of K'ing on 3-5 pitches. Shouldn't your #2 guy be able to run? I'd almost rather have Josh in that spot. Michaels can hit in it all he wants vs. lefties, but DD is not someone I want in that spot.

I think he's trying to get Dellucci going by putting him in that spot. I think he's trying to get Dellucci to stop trying to hit home runs and start trying to make contact, which is typically what the 2 hitter would do. I think he's just trying to change his mindset. But we'll see if it works...

Blake is having a fine season......and is starting to validate that the 2004 and 2006 seasons are the norm and the 2005 season the outlier. He's a solid player, and I hope he sticks around awhile. He's here for at least one more year, and I wouldn't be upset with him getting a multi-year deal.

I think he'd take that deal too. He seems to love it here, and feels he owes us for giving him a chance and sticking with him.

CC's gonna try to finish it. It's probably not a bad idea since Borowski has pitched in the last 2 games, and I think 3 of the last 4? He could use a night off. Though I might have him start stretching just in case.

I was also one that dogged Casey early in the year, but I take most of it back. Not all of it though, lol.

Grady... is great. We all know this. But he's killin me with the strikeouts, man, lol. I know he's young and will reduce them in time, plus he does mostly everything else more than well enough to make up for it. But still, he's gotta get better with 2 strikes.

Eric Wdge = Jobu

CC has over 100 pitches, he gave up 3 runs so its not a Shutout situation

say "good job now lets get you the win"

no reason at all he shoulda been in there

Ok. Some questionable managing there. You HAVE to walk that guy to setup the force out! And, I'm not sure I bring out CC after 107 pitches and laboring all night with a WHIP around 2.00.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. No reason whatsoever to leave CC in with that high of a pitch count.

Well, we have Garko, Barfield and Sizemore in bottom 9. Hopefully Wicky can blow two in a row, lol.

Just have to keep the damage down now and keep their lead to only one.

Wedge, you idiot.

What a homer and what a NON-factor at manager. Case in point - taking out Stanford last night in the 7th. Fine, but for the fact that he had been more effective than CC tonight and had thrown a lot less pitches. Wedge doesn't hesitate to make the move last night.

We are in first place. Any other first place team would have had their closer in. We don't have in one Borowski and that is obvious. And MASTNY is the guy warming in the pen!? Brilliant! We're in first and we're insecure enough to leave in a guy who has thrown 100 plus and might I add that he was far from dominating ATL tonight.

B/c as someone else pointed out the other day, Wedge loves guys who "compete". Nevermind if they're any good or not.
