Every single time someone says "Fuck you Jobu", or something along those lines, we lose. Every time. You'd think after all my repeated warnings people would listen. No. Nobody ever does. Good lord. Listen to me. I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

Well that was just an all around bad night for us, wasn't it. Bad offense, bad pitching, bad coaching.

I guess the guys got in so late last night that they didn't take bp before the game tonight. I wonder if that made a difference.

Grrrrrr. Lead back down to 1 game.

It's as if no one knew how to hit Wickman.

What a slap in the face. Wedge elects to leave in CC AGAIN and now we have to watch Bob striking Blake out to win?!

Wedge, you, madam, are an idiot.

THAT was an AWFUL approach to hitting in the 9th inning. A-W-F-U-L. Blake, Sizemore, Dellucci and Garko swung at I believe a combined 7 balls that were in the dirt of way out of the strike zone. Inexcusable.

Losses like this always eat at me. Shoulda had this one, but the manager was braindead in the top of the 9th and the hitters clueless in the bottom of the 9th.

Tonight just furthered my beliefs that we will be sitting home in October. This team doesn't have it. A trade away, but good luck on Dolan and Shap to pull something major.

Yeah, that bottom of the 9th was just bad. They never should have been put in that situation, but still.

You notice how Sizemore was rolling right along and was in a groove up until Wedgie sat him, then after that he's been a bit off? Figures.

I probably would have stayed with CC if it was a two run lead and the Braves hadn't ever tied the score early. I would not have stuck with him the way the game was going. If I did then I'd have made sure Borowski was warmed up and ready to go at the first sign of trouble. Maybe Wedge didn't want Joe pitching in three straight games, but he could have done better than Mastny.

Peralta made the situation worse, but I would have been ready to pull the plug the instant Salty hit that double. Ideally, CC would not have been pitching in the ninth at all.

HEEEEEEY!!!!!

Thanks for thinking of me, guys. It really is sweet of you. I've been working hard this last week and I don't mind saying that I'm proud of my achievements.

Let's recap the top five TCE incidents this week (remember, when I work I like to have unique endings to games - my goal is not only to stick the dagger in, but jiggle it around a little bit):

1)Having Varegao take the last shot of Game 3.
2)Wickman (of all people) comes in to save a game the Indians were up in going into the ninth
3)CC pitches nine shutout innings - no decision- Tribe loses in twelve
4)Damon Jones finally makes a three point shot- but the Cavs are down 4 with 3 seconds left to get swept 0-4
5)Westbrook gives up 5 runs in 6 innings at Single A Lake County.

Don't doubt me.

THNX!!!

Just saw a replay of the ninth and I've got to say, Dellucci needs to make one of those two catches. The first one hit off the SIDE of his glove. Not the tip. The second one was tougher, but not impossible.

Still, Wedge's decision to (a) send Sabathia out for the ninth, and (b) pitch to Escobar with first base open rank among his worst of the year.

Enough to bring back Steve's "Completely False Statements about Mark Shapiro for the Google Search Engine"? We'll see.

That's what I was wondering.

Also, yes, Dellucci has to make that catch to lead off the inning. That was very catchable. He made a great effort, but you gotta complete the play.

I changed the subject of this thread so we can talk about the entire series here. Weekend action, especially when it is nice out and with the two weekend games being during the day should get very little action.

Stupid me was relying on the time warner guide.

May sound dumb saying this, but the field looks beautiful today---I gotta do something manly after saying that.

I walk into the next room, come back, and hear "And Smoltz has struckout 5 straight Indian hitters". Ouch.

Atlanta's bottom 3 are killing us.

2-1, runners on corners, Grady on first, no outs. I wouldn't mind seeing Dellucci bunt over Sizemore with Blake and Vic up next.

But of course Wedge doesn't and Dell grounds into a double play. Thankfully he gets Shopp in to tie it up.

The Fox Analyst (Mark Grace) just lost credibility: he called Victor Martinez a great DEFENSIVE catcher.

I nearly fell out off my chair. As it is, I have to clean up beer that I spit out.

Never mind I see they fixed their screw up.

We need this series to get back on track of just winning series even if we cannot string together 4-5 wins.

Did I mention I hate Dellucci hitting 2nd? In fact, hitting anywhere in this lineup period?

To recap...

Barfield: Single
Shoppach: Double
Sizemore: Single
Dellucci: DOUBLE PLAY
Blake: Single

Talk about absolutely KILLING an inning.

We had the Killer B's in 2005 with Broussard, Blake and Boone. We now have the Killer D.

Not quite true, aren't we up there in errors?

Oh wait you meant...

Actually we do have a killer D, it kills us at times, always the wrong time.

Yahoo.com says all 5 are earned.

Byrd's on the downslide. He's gonna be ugly for a while. He was awesome to begin the season, now he's gonna suck for at least a month.

This just in. Actually, this not just in, as mentioned earlier, Paul Byrd is not a good pitcher. 10 more hits in 5 innings. He will end the year in the top three as far as average against. He is done. Painfully clear.

Guys, when they develop new pitches at his age, are grasing at straws.

That depends on your definition of "done." I suspect he'll finish with an ERA of about 4.50. Considering the rest of our staff, that makes him semi-valuable for now.

I think he'll be over 5. Unfortunately, we will see. This is another case where I hope I'm wrong, but the guy looks about as easy to hit as any guy in the league at this point.
