Still erratic, but...

@JeffPassan 17m
Trevor Bauer's fastball back with a vengeance. Gave up two runs in first IP but went 97, 96, 96, 97, 97, 97, 97, 96, 97, 96, 96, 96, 96, 96.

Pretty encouraging to see the velo back. I'd prefer it be control and command, but that high fastball's a bit more interesting at 96-97 instead of 92-93.

Meanwhile, he's getting shelled today.

Trevor once again has eschewed conventional wisdom in regard to pitch location. It seems like the smartest guy on earth is going with belt high stuff over the heart in order to pull one over on major league hitters.

Didn't work today, but he'll prove 100 years worth of other major league pitchers foolish for going down and away.

Christ, it was hard to tell if that was Bauer, or the typical 70 year old Johnny Goryl type that throws BP the first two days of spring.

Make sure the straight ball is up. That makes it all the more unhittable.

You guys are just more idiots that Trevor is smarter than.

I hope he invested the bonus well. Maybe he can start a baseball think tank. He reminds me of dnosco so it would make some sense. And he can sell weighted baseballs and other such products while conduct clinics with all the other guys who know more than anyone else.

So he should be okay.

Only his superior intellect.

I wonder if he looks at the clock and realizes that his window is closing awfully quick. Seems as if playing a full season with Matt LaPorta didn't shake that realization loose.
