Mike Hegan passes away.

Former Cleveland Indians broadcaster and longtime Major Leaguer Mike Hegan passed away on Christmas morning at the age of 71.

Hegan joined the Indians broadcast team in 1989. He last called a game in 2012.

Condolences to his family. Never a good time to lose someone, but certainly seems worse on Christmas.

He was starting to sound really, really bad on air at the end of his tenure. Definitely sounded like he was ill, so maybe this is one of those "At least he's not suffering anymore" things.

Condolences to his family as well. Always enjoyed listening to him with Hammy on the radio.
