Indians vs Red Sox

I didn't get to catch the play with Blake but I read in the PD that it looked like a hose job by Merriweather and Reed.

and when will Big Hafs start to hit? I hope he busts out this series.

The scary thought was I cringed when I heard that Blake wasn't starting at 3rd base tonight.

All those that felt something similar needs to raise their hand. :roll

Sowers is throwing a 2-hitter through 4.

Let's hope the bats wake up, particularly Hafner's. Before long, it will be time for us to have a more serious discussion about his woes.

Missed the game tonight, although saw post-game highlights of Perez in the 8th/9th innings. The kid is ready.....leave him up here. He was filthy tonight.

Schillings blog about facing the Tribe. Not a bad entry. Gets a little overboard for his praise of Delucci, but they are old friends so I guess I understand that.

His son's name is Gehrig? Gehrig Schilling? Wow, if his dad wasn't Curt Schilling, he would get his ass beat every single day in school.

I read a lot of Schilling comments a couple of years ago. He is a really opinionated guy, and not concerned about bruising feelings. If you want to get a feel of his opinion of the big media folks, take a reading of this:

The Byrdman is off to another stellar start. Let's hope he can keep us close and the bats wake up.

Another screwed up call by the umps. What is it with this crew?

Barfield error to start the inning. 4 men LOB through the first two innings. Damn this is frustrating right now.

Back in it. All even at 2. Time for the Byrdman to shut them down.

This umpiring crew is pathetic. Barfield was braindead rounding second but another air tag out for the Cheat Sox.

I take back every negative comment I have ever made about Mastny. Great job tonight.

Awesome job by Mastny. Youkalis is hitting about .450 over the last 22 games and he blew him away with the bases loaded.

Now we have the key matchup of the game with Fultz against Ortiz. So far Ortiz has fouled off six pitches. You gotta admire Fultz for going after him with a four-run lead rather than walking in a run and taking their chances with the next guy.

OK, Fultz got him. Great job by the bullpen after Byrd gave up a couple of soft singles. Bases loaded, nobody out, Crisp/Youkalis/Ortiz coming up and we get out of it with no runs scored. Byrd ought to buy Mastny and Fultz dinner at the restaurant of their choice.

Edit: Now Shoppach just homered for his 3rd hit of the game. Every chance he gets to play he's productive offensively and defensively. He's having the kind of year Josh Bard had for the Padres last year.
