Here's our lineup:

G. Sizemore cf
C. Blake 3b

J. Peralta ss
R. Garko 1b
T. Nixon rf
J. Michaels lf
J. Barfield 2b

No Marte in the lineup despite Detroit's LH starter.

Great start tonight. 4 runs in the first and made him throw 30 pitches. Would love to get into that weak Tiger pen early.

Anyone see Nixon pull up lame on his double? Couldn't tell if he was just being "old" or if he tweaked something.

Dad commented on it, I didn't see it, but at least I know he's not going crazy.

Fausto forces ANOTHER double play. He's a double-play kinda guy.

Great play by Inge to get Barfield out.

Anyone see what happened to Pudge?

Why didn't Peralta flip that up? That could have been a double play, prevented the run, kept Magglio off, and ended the inning.

Groundballs are betraying Carmona this inning...

Blake, too, looked a little flat-footed on the one that scooted by him.

Dear Eric Wedge: TROT NIXON SUCKS AGAINST LHP.

Play Gutierrez or send him down, for God's sake.

Didn't Trot double in the first off LHP?

Not really. It was a fly out Monroe played into a double.

I don't drink very much but I swear Barfield is going to make me an alcoholic with his brainless approach to hitting. You got a starter in there getting up in the pitch count going into the seventh inning. He walks Michaels on 5 pitches. You think Josh makes the guy throw a strike or at least takes a pitch to see how he's going to get worked in the at bat. He goes up there first pitch hacking man. Now he did catch a bad break in that he hit the ball on the nose right to the 2B to get Malibu doubled off - but his approach sucks. Yes I know the road rule of be more aggressive - but Josh would be hitting probably 30 points higher if he had a more disciplined approach to hitting.

I know - be patient - I know - he's better than what we had - I know - he has upside - but I do get ticked watching him sometimes.

Blast away.

he did misplay the ball - but in the book it's a 2B. I agree with you for the most part regarding Trot vs. LHP.

Wow. How 'bout that. What a great night to be a Cleveland fan.

Talk about sending a message.....now we have to go to Boston and try and win 2 of 3, although will be tough with Lee and Sowers going in two of those games. At least get one. Then, come home and at least split with the Tiggers.

I don't know why people are so down on Lee. What this will be his 3rd start back. He has just struggled a bit with keeping his pitches down. He has great stuff and is a great pitcher; WHEN HIS STUFF IS DOWN.

Lee just keeps his breaking stuff upstairs all day long which will hurt us vs. Boston if he does it.

I think winning 2/3 is a MUST and would be huge. We are each coming in off sweeps; but we swept a far better team in Detroit. I think we will see who is the best team in baseball after Wednesday night.

Don't get me wrong: I love having Trot on the team. Our lineup against RHP is disgusting. But we really need another right-handed bat in the outfield as Nixon and Dellucci have abysmal L/R splits.

That and routine plays like 'covering first base'.

I'm not down on Lee at all. He has proven himself over time in my book. He's still a month behind everyone else. He'll be fine. I think Sowers winning may be a stretch but he did pitch pretty well last time out. I think we can take two out of three from Boston. The key is going to be the starting pitching. I don't like our pen working lots of innings in that bandbox.

The problem with Lee's play last week wasn't a lack of spring training. He just didn't care to make the effort to get to 1st to take the throw. That shows laziness, and it shouldn't be tolerated. Especially on a contender. The Tribe needs all 25 guys to give 100%. I don't see why that's so hard, if they love the game.

I agree but the fact is sometimes you have a mental lapse in a game. It's going to happen. For that matter we could all pick on Victor for him running out ground balls slow (yes I know he is slow). Lee has been a good tropper sine we have had him. I'm not going to write him off on one play where he was slow covering - for whatever reason.

CC did the same thing in his last outing in Detroit. I guess it's a lot easier to let those non tolerable acts slide when you're 7-1

Let's not confuse what Lee did with the issue of CC. Lee didn't move over to cover, CC was a step away from recording the out.

Agreed, but it was still lazy. CC got a late break and took his time in getting over there and then made a bonehead play by not tagging the runner.
