I was beginning to wonder if Wedge was actually managing to win this game, I guess not. Not to let Lee off the hook because he's been awful.

At this point, I would have to agree. We brought him in here because he was supposed to OWN right-handed pitching . . . so far he's posted a sizzling .242 BA and a .652 OPS (against righties). And that doesn't count tonight's futility.

Mental mistakes, while the norm for this team, are unacceptable. Wedge coming out and laying in to him is another change from Wedge, as he continues to grow as a manager.

Our rotation is overrated. CC & Carmona look good, Byrd is OK so far, the other 2 guys are huge question marks. Starters ERA is 4.65, pretty mediocre. Lee & Sowers are both over 7 ERA. This staff is held together by 3 good guys and 2 that are as porous as toilet paper. Lee & Sowers are likely to get shellacked most times they go out to the mound.

That's why we need a good long reliever. Cabrera ain't getting the job done, who else we got? They should consider calling up Stanford for long relief, but I doubt they'll do that. The answer won't be found in our current pen, they better look somewhere else.

He has started runners countless times and done other things.....plus he has not held back in publicly crucifying any players who play like shit. Is that really Eric Wedge on the bench? I still say it is a beta unit.

That's pretty much the unspoken code: physical errors are going to happen; mental errors are a reflection of poor discipline/effort.

Part of Wedge's job as coach is to make sure the latter don't happen, and I think that's why he was ripping Lee in public.
