Al's Lazy Sunday interview with Shapiro

Unread postby Adverb Harry » Sun Mar 24, 2013 10:52 am

Great, great work on not only getting that interview lined up, but asking and covering the topics you did. You don't see that level of insight and honesty in pieces by any of the journalists that cover the Tribe and/or MLB on a full-time, professional basis. You nailed it, man!

Terrific job, Al. A very entertaining read.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun doing it, and Shapiro couldn't have been nicer.

That was a terrific read. Appreciate the prep work that had to go into it too.

Ended up talking with him during Trevor Bauer's start on the back fields on Monday as well. He called me over to thank me and tell me how much fun the interview was, and also to ask if I'd seen any negative feedback or if anyone percived any of his comments as controversial. We chatted for almost two innings about MLB structure, Tito, specific minor league players, and "levers."

He really is a genuinely nice guy, and extremely intelligent. Oh, and he told me that he used to read Pauly C's all the time, which is not at all surprising.

It wouldn't surprise me if he frequented Swerbsblurbs here to get a pulse on our congnicenti. Best damn Indians board on the planet...might as well know how the die-hards are feeling.

Yep, no doubt Shapiro logs on here while having his morning coffee to read the musing of 1Perry, rigs and Pup all singing poetic.

I've not said much of anything about him in a good while. His record can now speak for him.
