Sikorski sold to Japan

THe Indians sold Brian Sikorski to Japan today.

I wonder who they are opening his roster spot at Buffalo up for? Politte and Sipp are a few weeks away still from game action.....maybe one of the Akron bully guys like Jensen Lewis, Reid Santos or Mariano Gomez.

Was it Laffey or did we actually put Miller on the DL to bring him up?

my guess is laffey is either getting the spot start or will be on the roster from now on... but considering dittler also got promoted laffey might get sent down and a position player might get promoted

i dont think he was on the 40-man but here is a question i am wondering about. if he was on the 40-man roster would he have to clear waivers before getting sold to japan?

That's right. Dittler probably replaces Sikorski.

Sikorksi was not on the 40-man roster. And, yes, removing Sikorski opened the spot for Laffey (Triple-A has the same 25-man roster limit).

Laffey won't stay in Buffalo, and should head back to Akron and stay in the rotation there.....unless Miller is hurt worse than expected and if so Laffey may stick in Buffalo. But, if Miller is ready to go next start, I expect one of the relievers from Akron to be called up and Laffey sent back down.

As an FYI, Dittler was called up and replaced Nick Pesco's spot on the roster.

y wouldnt we keep laffey in buffalo? he has proven himself in Akron and he hasnt been sent down yet so maybe he will stay... also this may make perez a full time releiver in buffalo

Laffey is still in Buffalo pending the return of Miller to the rotation. Once Miller returns, Laffey most likely goes back unless they release two starters in Buffalo or reassign them to the bullpen (and instead then release two relievers).

Perez is staying in the rotation for now. He has pitched very well, and is being stetched out to work on several things he normally can't do in one inning bullpen stints.

man im feeling bad for leffey i mean he is one of those players where u follow since he was in lake county and u want him to do good. it was tough to see those stats from the last start of his.
