Adam Miller hurt

Unread postby consigliere » Thu May 17, 2007 6:29 pm

Was bumped from his start today, and Aaron Laffey was called up from Akron to make a spot start for Buffalo today.

Don't know the extent of the injury or how serious, but something with his finger. From the little digging I have done so far, it is a bruise. Hopefully that is all it is.

I'll hopefully have an official statement by tomorrow or hopefully the Buffalo papers mention it......but reading some other boards, I guess during the Bisons game today the announcer mentioned he has a bruised index finger on his pitching hand.

Doesn't sound too bad. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and he can return soon and make the impact we all thought he would.

Triple-A Buffalo's Adam Miller missed his scheduled start Thursday with a finger injury.

"Adam had some soreness in the top joint of his middle finger the day following his last start," assistant GM Chris Antonetti said. "We expect that he will be back in the Buffalo rotation soon."

Interesting that they said "back soon" rather than "he should make his next scheduled start."

If Adam doesn't rely to much on that particular finger when he throws his breaking pitches; this shouldn't be that serious. It's good to take the safe route though.

from indians.com

Miller fine: Adam Miller, the Tribe's top pitching prospect, is fine and will start on Tuesday for Buffalo, an Indians spokesman said.

Miller was scratched from his scheduled start for the Bisons on Thursday because of a bruised middle finger on his throwing hand.

Phew!

Doesn't sound all that bad. Keeps Tribe pitching nice and deep.

Scratched again last night after feeling pain in the bullpen?

Maybe we shouldn't be counting on this kid too heavily at this point.

Uh oh.

Time to start getting worried. Mariano GOmez had a similar injury, and if it is injurred to that degree, Miller may be in trouble for awhile.

Can't be anywhere as bad. Zumaya and the Tigers realized there was a major problem and doctors quickly indicated that surgery was necessary.

Miller got examined by doctors and it was determined that rest should be sufficient. Had Miller blown the finger tendon, any regualr doctor would have be talking surgery for Miller as well.
