Rick Manning

I started playing baseball when I was 10 and played all through school until I was 22. I bet I have learned more baseball listening to Rick Manning every night than I ever did from my years of playing. That guy knows baseball.

On a side note, I did my six year old son's room in 1980's Indians theme. Autographed photos of Barker, Thornton, Hargrove, Franco, Kupier, Manning, Blyleven, and of course Charboneau. Only one new school photo up - he had to have Hafner. Just thought you old hags may get a kick out of that.

Man, that's a helluv-an-idea.

I grew up on the Tribe in the 80s, and still hold a special place in my heart for those players and team....as bad as they were.

We are in different generations. I would have to do the 90s season. Put a nice all star lineup of Lofton, Ramirez, Thome, Baerga, Vizquel, Sorento, Nagy, Hershiser, Mesa, Dennis Martinez (ehh). Anyway, that is a great idea. I recently started collecting ball cards again and I'm getting a whole bunch of nice rookie cards. My favorites so far are the three Grady Sizemore 2000 Bowman RC and the 03/04 Bowman LeBron James RC

The '90s made rooting for those teams worthwhile. The experience of going to see those shitty teams at the Stadium almost added to the enjoyment of watching the Belle-Baerga-Lofton teams kick ass.

ODB McDowell.

I remember Triv on NCX doing minuscule sports reporting saying "Oddibe oughta be pretty good" most relevant and funniest thing the guy has ever spoken in his life.

The "Retro Tribe" bedroom is an ongoing project. I learned when you start scooping up memorabilia - get want you want first and then pick up the other items to complete your set. So, I first grabbed autographs of all the players I liked over the last few years. Now as I go I can pick up the Waits' and the Jacobys', etc.

In addition, my office is done in the Municipal Stadium theme. I have two seats from the Stadium (hard as hell and funny when people sit in them they last about 10 seconds". I have three bricks, desk set, Gate D print, Aerial of the Stadium, Last night at the stadium, and a picture of the stadium being built in 1931. Pretty awesome I must say.

I admit I am a sick man for the Indians.
