Weather Report
Currently 59 Degrees in Cleveland at Noon.
55 Degrees at gametime with a 10% chance of precipitation and a 10-15 MPH wind heading SE (not sure where that relates to the ballpark) Anyway, it will be partly cloudy and not the greatest of ballgame weather.

Doug's Keys to the Game
---The key to tonight's game will be CC Sabathia coming off of a few lackluster starts. He got roughed up by Oakland again last outing and I think it's really important that he bounce back strong. Hopefully he can give us 7 and 3 or less earned runs.
---Victor Martinez is 11/25 against Carlos Not Gold but Silva with 3 HR and 11 RBI.
---Grady Sizemore is 17-33 against Carlos Not Gold but Silva with 2 HR and 5 RBI
---CC Sabathia is third in the league in K/BB ratio at 5.80. He is behind Ted Lilly at 6 and.....PAUL BYRD!!!! AT 7.87

Should be an exciting game, let's jump out early and take the series.

Indians vs. Silva
Grady Sizemore 17/33 (.515), 2 HR, 3 2B, 2 3B, 5 RBI
Travis Hafner 12-26 (.462) 0 HR, 4 2B, 5 RBI
Victor Martinez 11-25 (.440) 3 HR, 11 RBI
Jhonny Peralta 6-22 (.273) 0 HR, 1 RBI
Trot Nixon 3-9 (.333) 1 HR, 1 RBI
Platoon situation Dellucci 2-9, Michaels 2-10

Tripod, I don't know if you'll be checkin the thread or not but I'm gonna need you to make the game threads tomorrow and Friday. I'm moving home tomorrow at about 1 and it's a pretty long drive so I won't be able to make the previews. Friday ill be getting situated so that won't work either. Besides, yours are better than mine (I'm still trying to figure out the pictures of the starting pitchers)

What you would expect to be the top five in Eric Wedge's batting order on Wednesday (Sizemore, Blake, Hafner, Martinez and Nixon) have a combined career average of .443 against Silva, in 124 at bats.

Another game note. The Twins placed their young, solid reliever Jesse Crain on the DL today.

Inflamation of the ERA after the Tribe lit him up last night?

what is the outlook for this game? Is the rain going to break? I dont have the blessing of local weather forecasts.
Coming from a Wolverine, we're the football equivalent of a formerly abused wife of a meth addict who just remarried the safe nice guy. We're just glad we have someone who's aware that it's a rivalry and that tackling on defense is integral. Baby steps.

Man, I'm starting to really warm up to Blake in the 2-hole.

Nice start, 2-0....now hopefully Sabathia doesn't have one of his one inning meltdowns. Gotta win this one to ensure the series going into Santana's start tomorrow.

Up 2-0 in the 1st, against a division rival, ace on the hill, coming off a tough week, chance to win the series before Santana hurls tomorrow ....

CC's gotta finish this one off.

Big hit by Trot there. CC has to nail this one down.

Man, the Indians are three blown late leads on that West Coast trip from really being on a role. Could have very well gone 7-3 or 6-4 on that trip and won every series......oh well. Starting to look like The Jake homefield cooking is back. Would be nice to see.

We need to nail this one down. Overall a pretty solid effort. That 10 game wrap around road trip was just brutal. Like I said Sunday - I would have been thrilled with 5-5. At the end of the day - if we can hang on - we're back to 9 games over .500 with 5 games left on this home stand. Not too bad.

If I had to guess, he assumed the throw was going home. Thing is, there's these guys on the field called "cut-off" men.

Does anyone else recall how the Tribe did after the JoeB meltdown in NY against the Yanks.

I believe Wedge and the boys won 11 of 13 before starting the last road trip.

IF the Tribe could do that after every JoeB meltdown, I'd have Joe meltdown in a game once every 3 weeks.

I know you called Borowski bashers morons yesterday, but Chris Berman, now there is a moron. And an arogant, unfunny one at that. I used to like the Berman nicknames, then I went to Junior High.

great game by Cleveland to take the series with Santana throwing tomorrow. Also worth noting, CC stayed right around his average K:BB ratio with 5:1. Also lowered his ERA to 3.65

Casey and Trot had great games but I'm gonna give the Player of the Game award to Grady Sizemore. 2-4, BB, 3 R, 2 SB

Another nice note; 0 errors for the Tribe

If I remember the play correctly, the bases were loaded and it was a sac fly to right. While watching it on TV I thought Ford might have a play at the plate. I think we must have some sort of set up were Hafner is supposed to get in that run down to insure the scoring of the run.
