I can see it. With Lincecum back in form, Cain being Cain, Bumgarner continuing to evolve ... there's not a trio of SP I'd rather have. And pitching wins in October.

I think it's going to be a repeat of the 2010 World Series. Giants over Rangers. Rangers lose their third straight WS. Ron Washington becomes the modern day Marv Levy.

Would love to see the Phillies sneak in for the wild card (only if Pittsburgh can't) because they were dead and buried, and if pitching wins in October, then the Phillies could shock the world. I'm kinda sick of them being in the playoffs but it would be an amazing story, especially after dumping Victorino and Pence and having Howard and Utley out most of the year. The Giants make me yawn for some reason. No one flashy on that ball club.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Nat take it, would love to see Bryce Harper come up big on the big stage, and I've always been a fan of Adam LaRoche, I think he's their MVP this year, but without Strasburg, I don't see them taking the NL pennant.

Their picthing staff is just finding its grovve after struggling early, their pounding the ball and coming from behind

Its a recipe for success imo or I would have never brought it up

That doesn't mean I don't think they are good, not saying that at all. They just go about it quietly which isn't always a bad thing, but sometimes it's a tad dull. I like three run bombs and that kinda thing.

Well, to me, the best story would be Oakland winning the World Series. Doing it after losing two vets in the rotation, and on the backs of four rookies and a guy who didn't start a game in over a year. They just seem to know how to win. At least this year!

Being 3.5 games behind ONE team is one thing.

Having four teams 3.5 ahead of you is quite another.

My sons played for a coach in Vegas named Jim Hampton

He took the same team to the American Legion Championship game two yrs in a row in the early 90's and won the 2nd time

Went into this wondering if it was who I put money on back earlier in the year.

I go thru Bovada and got a free $10 to bolt on to a $20. So $30 on the Giants cause I loved their odds at 16/1 around late March.

Mind you, all the money was on Philly, NYY, Boston and Anaheim. Believe the Dodgers had better odds too.

Been trying not to pay too much attention but if they get close I'll probably look to protect it. Still with that staff (not even banking on the struggle that Lincecum has had) really like them to at least push into the "Final 4".

Also did the exact same thing ($30 incl. free $10) with Baltimore at 12/1 about 3 weeks ago. While it pained me, I figure if they do win it will soften the blow a bit. Did that with Miami 5/2 early last year, probably do that again actually.

Agree- could really bite them this yr. I see the point of those who say since the team knew his innings would be limited, they could have taken steps to make sure he had some innings left in October.
