Despite the jumbled title I find the article interesting and it's something I thought has been wrong for a long time. Too many GM's not giving enough credit to the scouts that do a good job finding talent.

This story is two years old (granted I know only written recently, but the firing was two years ago)... seems like the writer is just trying to have a dig at the Angels - maybe holding a grudge over something.

Firing a guy who scouted a player who's in A Ball (which trout was when the scout was fired) is not a story..... it's just sensationalist reporting by a guy with too much time on his hands.

Name me any Scouting Director (from another organisation ) who has ever been fired and I could probably reel off a list of 5-10 really good players they were "responsible for drafting" as well.

So, I assume that you're now a big supporter of the Indian's front office. After all, they are responsible for drafting Lindor who, by all accounts, is a fantastic prospect.

New front office wanting their guys
Money
A whole bunch of other meaningless reasons

My main point was this story was two years old, some people called it out at the time.... this writer is just finding another way to jump on the Mike Trout is God bandwagon and sensationalize a dead story.

Hell, if you google the scouting director's name you'll find a whole bunch of stories almost exactly the same written before this year started..... writer ego trip!!

I'm asking why it would seem that successful scouts get fired. I don't think anyone in the Indians organization right now could be called successful.
