D(FA)-Lowe Gone

Derek Lowe DFA'd to make room for Corey Kluber.

Tale of two seasons ends abruptly.

He was so good the first month, so-so the second. And then Image

Time to flush the season and say Wait Until Next Year.

Who fills the "other" spot in the rotation now then?

According to Manny Tomlin's moved to the pen full-time and technically Kluber is taking his spot by starting tomorrow.

We're gonna need another starter on Sunday - I guess Gomez?

Scott Elarton's probably available. Seth McClung was just DFA'd by somebody.

I did notice the other day that Scott Elarton is pitching for the Phillies AAA affiliate - 5-8, 5.06ERA in 22 starts.

I imagine that Damon and Kotchman aren't going to be making any long term plans to stay either. At this point you may as well cut bait with them as well. Play LaPorta/Anderson the rest of the way, see what you've got.

Perfect. He'll fit right in.
