CF Chris Snelling (0/0)

Fun fact: Today's starting pitchers weigh a combined 540 pounds at their listed weight, and are a combined 12' 10" tall.

Notes for CLE: Currently 3-4 on this ten-game roadtrip. Victor Martinez is hitting .405/.488/.622/1.110 in May, after hitting .186 combined in May '05-'06. Martinez hit .536/.618/.821/1.439 against Oakland in 2006, going 10/19 in McAfee Coliseum.

Starting pitcher C.C Sabathia hails from Vallejo, CA and grew up an Oakland A's fan.

Notes for OAK: Ohio State alum Nick Swisher leads the team in batting average and RBI. The A's are coming off a 17-3 thumping of the Royals where they bashed six home runs.

Need a win tonight to stop the bleeding, and nobody better to do that than our "ace" C.C.

Add whatever you want.

Moving out of the University of Akron.

If you're a poker player, PM me.

Didn't mean to steal your thunder, just got bored and didn't feel like dismantling my futon at that moment.

Some cool split stats to add to tonight's matchup and I'll give my quick preview since I basically nailed last night's (unfortunately).

C.C. Sabathia's AVG in last 3 starts
6.1 IP, 5.28 ERA, 8.6 K, .66 BB, 1.3 HR, 1.16 WHIP
-----Keep in mind that he got touched up a bit by Texas

Joe Blanton's AVG in last 3 starts
7.2 IP, 3.20 ERA, 2 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 1.24 WHIP
-----1 start against SEA and TB

CC Sabathia Career Against OAK
(1-4) 6.40 ERA, 41 K, 29 BB, 1.71 WHIP
-----Has thrown 5 "Quality Starts" out of 10

Joe Blanton Career Against CLE
(0-2) 5.25 ERA, 10 K, 7 BB, 1.67 WHIP
-----Has thrown 1 "Quality Start" out of 2

First stat I can give you about Batter vs. Pitcher is that Jason Kendall is 6-12 against CC in his career with 6 RBI and a SB.

Will add more later

Tripod, you can make tomorrow's preview too cuz I will be moving out of my dorm and the rents are comin to town (Ohio Northern) so we're gonna watch the Cavs at 5. It really doesn't look like I'll have time.

Just a quick recap of the action in the minors tonight:

Lake County - Steven Wright finally with a good pitching performance, going 5 innings of shutout ball. Goedert did not homer, but still went 2-3 with a 2B and walk.

Kinston - Ryan Edell with another good outing going 5 innings and giving up only 1 run. John Drennen went 3-3 with 2 HR and a 2B, 3 RBI and a walk. Stephen Head with a game winning 2-run HR.

Akron - Pounded 12-1. Scott Lewis not good going 4 innings and giving up 3 runs....and then Joe Ness was bombed in relief giving up 6 runs in 2.1 IP. Trevor Crowe 0-3 and now down to .168 on the year. Jorden Brown 2-4 and continues to hit well.

Buffalo - Also pounded 13-2. Jason Stanford lit up for 6 runs in 5 innings and gave up 11 hits and 2 walks. Matt Miller bombed as well, giving up 3 runs in an inning, and Nick Pesco gives up 4 runs in 2 IP. Brad Snyder 2-3 with his first HR of the year. Ryan Mulhern 2-4 with a 2B and RBI and quietly putting together a very nice season.

Man. I always hate these kind of stretches as you feel your team will never score again.

Since scoring 2 runs in the 1st inning on Wed night, the Indians have now been held scoreless for 21 straight innings.

We go to the bottom of the 5th...still no score. Now up to 22 straight innings without a run for the Indians.

Man, CC has really been bitten by the HR bug early this year. Can't complain about anything else really with him though.

Gotta say it, with the offense struggling like it is....1-0 could be the final.

Erm, how about that. No sooner do I post that and Garko goes yard. Hopefully that was the firecracker this offense needed to wake from its slumber.

Hafner needs a day off. I can't remember the last time he's looked this bad for this long of a time. Maybe after that fucker Buerle hit him in the head with a pitch.

And this is exactly why C.C. will get the big bucks, but not from us. I don't care if you suck for some reason against the A's. This lineup top to bottom is a glorified triple A lineup outside of Swisher. Bobby Crosby and Jack Cust take advantage of your mistakes.. are you serious. And Wedge way to stick with your guy so that it's not even a game.
