Well... we're losing 8-2 in the B7. Losing to a pitcher named Will Smith of the Royals... :bag:

I guess the Indians suck against left handed starters

I was out running errands before we leave for vacation on Saturday and completely lost track of the time. I thought of starting it sometime around noon, but then figured I'd be home well before game time. I have learned my lesson...Image By the time I got into the house we were down 5-2. By the time hubby got the laptop fired up and opened up a webpage we were down 7-2. Figured even if I was bringing a shitload of good luck it was too late anyway.

So that means we would have lost anyway if I had started the thread?

Nice game, Tribe. Hard to figure why no one wants to go watch this team. If you think W. Smith was tough today, wait 'til you get a load of Bruce Chen tomorrow. His ERA is almost nine runs less than Smitty's was.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

Uh, yeah. Left-hander called up from AAA where opposing batters were hitting .308 against him? No problem. A quality start and another loss for the Tribe.

I wonder why Manny started Cunningham in left rather than Duncan. Shelley doesn't seem to have a role anymore.

The only good thing about this game was not having to watch Damon play. Oh, and getting Droobs back in the lineup.

Wierd game by Masterson. It looked like he had no command, but he got eight K's and no walks. Usually that means a shutout, but they lit him up. The Royals' lefties killed him - they were 5-for-5. Justin's ERA is over 5.00 now and we're well into the season. Wonder what's wrong with him. He's not close to being the same pitcher as last year.

Is there even a quote anywhere from Radinsky about Ubaldo and the other starters?

I don't bash the PD often, but come on...

Manny musta missed your Duncan extrapolations. No other way to explain why a baseball man like that wouldn't play a 30+ HR guy.

I do hope he's still keen on your Ubaldo thoughts though. Might be harder for him to see just how Ubaldo's turned it around but he needs to have faith in your vision. If not with Duncan at least with Ubaldo.

Is it?

People blowing each other a week ago and shooting themselves today makes perfect sense to me.

Bunch of fucking manic-depressives around here since forever. Maybe I can make it easier by saying this has always been a mediocre baseball team. Look at the roster. It'll be a much smoother ride if if people ain't ejaculating all over their keyboards with every win or reverting back to their cutting habits after every loss.

No wonder some people are okay with Perez's horseshit. That's the only identity they can find with this team. And it's a perfectly desperate choice of player to stand behind.

ETA: Don't let the above make you think I don't think this particular division is winnable. The Tigers aren't what people thought and the White Sox have holes aplenty. But it'll be a relatively mediocre team that wins the division. And that means ups and downs are going to be part of the summer.
