I'm more disturbed by Masterson this year than Ubaldo simply because I expected not much from Ubaldo and really good things from Masterson...along with velocity he's walked 33 in 60 innings this year as opposed to 65 in 216 innings last year. That is unbelivably disturbing. He's lost not just velicity but control too.

He's hanging in there today though just as Ubaldo did Tuesday.

We hate Jhonny because he played like crap for 3/5 of his contract with us, and put up arguably his best year after he was traded for pennies on the dollar, to our biggest rival.

Also, he couldn't lay off that damn outside curveball.....same reason Gutierrez made everyone insane and Laporta is languishing in triple-A.

ALso, he sucks at spelling his own name.

I know nothing about his work habits or his aloofness, his greatest atribute is his consistency. 2006 was subpar but his years were pretty much close to identical...his fielding was unbelievably consistent, doesn't make errors playing shorstop, good arm, little range, steady as they come, I have no idea about his apathy or lack thereof, I don't know the definition of a Cleveland kind of player.

My only criticism would be I guess he didn't accept his move to third, but I honestly don't remember. HE didn't make any errors playing there either.

(looking back I was wrong....Peralta made a ton of errors at 3rd his first year there, by 2010, his 2nd year he wasn't making any.) whatever, Peralta's a good player. he lays off better than LaPorta or Gutierrez...call me crazy but wake me up when MaTola or Franklin have near 1200 hits and 140 homers before their 30th birthdays. I will not let Jhonny be disgraced by mentioning his abilities in the same breath as those two clowns.

Yeah, that was incredible. He's the only Tiger I don't hate. I just flat out respect him. He just goes about his business and isn't an asshole unless he's really provoked (Aybar bunt to break up no hitter; Santana posing on walk-off grand slam).

It's a joy to watch him. If I'm lucky enough to live to be a grandpa, if my grandkids ever ask about players I've seen, Verlander will be one of the first names I mention.

Peralta didn't pass the eye test with his approach. If you didn't get that feeling at the time, I agree it would be hard to understand.

They let Vizquel go to play Peralta at short - I don't think many fans really held that against him which is suprising in retrospect.

But he was never very clutch, according to my memory. He did get lasik done, and I hoped that would help but it didn't seem to.

Then the last yr he was here, he got in Cabrera's way on a popup and kind of fell on him. Broke his arm.
