How about Colby Lewis's start today?

7 innings with 12Ks, just the one BB and allowed only 5 hits...... all 5 hits were HRs though, including the first 3 hitters of the game for the O's!

EDIT: And Josh Hamilton just hit another HR in the first inning of game 2.

Love Hammy. He's just as fun to listen to in close games as he is in blowouts. He's very good at slipping in thoughts every fan has going through their head without sounding like a prick about it.

It's amazing how these people up here love to claim they are the best fans in the world. Loyal, dedicated...like heck. I remember back in July of one of their two World Series victories (probably '07) they had given up on the team. Sports stations moved on to talking about football (of COURSE the Pattsies were going to win another Super Bowl...) and gave up on the Sux. Until mid-September. Lowe has been a tremendous pickup...especially in light of the "Rob" situation. Still would like to see "Rob" back someday. Though I think that is less likely with each passing day. Customs/Immigration Dept. does not like it when you lie to them.

Derek Lowe is 8th among qualified AL pitchers in ERA. He's 42nd in WHIP.

Expect serious regression sometime soon if his WHIP doesn't start going down.

I agree they'll be some regression, but I'm not worried it'll be that severe.

The majority of that WHIP is coming from the hits and a lot of those are ground balls through the infield.

He's gonna have some games this year where he isn't able to wiggle out of the trouble he has, but it should be sustainable for him to have a pretty strong year assuming he doesn't tire.
