Seriously, I hate that stadium. I could lean into a lob wedge and hit it over that right field fence.

The only thing worse than that ballpark are the people in it.

Rad has been doing a quality job so far. I miss Belcher though. Hope his family issues are getting better. It'd be nice to have both guys in uni for the game.

With Ubaldo's mechanics issues, I have been asking, 'where is Radinsky with this?'
I am soooo hoping Ubaldo is turning the corner (really interesting tonite).

Derek Lowe is 8th among qualified AL pitchers in ERA. He's 42nd in WHIP.

Expect serious regression sometime soon if his WHIP doesn't start going down.

Until that happens, I sure am enjoying the shit out of the Derek Lowe era.

Edit: I'm not really enjoying the Tony Sipp era all that much.

I'm having trouble with Derek Lowe. He wasn't very good last year at all and his periperhal stats are horrible this year. He's winning games somehow which is nice but I think there is a bit of magical mirrors involved and can't keep it up. his WHIP says he's not pitching really any better than Ubaldo or Masterson this year. His base stats are great...the W-L-ERA and those are the main ones we look at. I'm not sure it can continue though, a guy who's given up more walks than strikeouts and putting massive amounts of guys on base. I guess if I was an optimist I would say he's like Paul Byrd in 2007. A guy you have no clue how he gets wins but just does. I don't have a lot of optimism though.

We have Lowe for just this year. If he can smoke up his mirrors like he has for the next 25 starts or so I'll be thrilled. But I'll worry about him collapsing once he starts to collapse. Just think of it this way: At least he's not Josh Beckett. (Boy, am I enjoying the sports talk up here today!
