The running isn't the problem, reading the pitch angle is.

If they want to be aggressive, fine, but they need better secondary leads. Gotta take an extra step if the ball is low heading home.

Primary lead, secondary lead, read pitch angle.

If its down, get some more. Arencibia did a good job, but no reason for him not to get that base.

Agreed

Ubaldo looks to have his breaking ball today, lets hope he keeps it for the immediate future, still only throwing 92-93, but throw strikes and control your secondary pitches and the drop in velo (while still alraming ) isnt as big a deal

Yeah I think it's safe to say we are not going to see 97 on a gun ever again from UJ. Like you said, secondary pitches are what counts. He needs to develop a bad ass cutter.

I had a kid throwing a perfect game into the 7th inning once, the other coach came up and said something between innings and we lost the perfecto, no hitter, and shutout in 2/3 of an inning.

The only other ones I can recall for Tribe that were as close as today were Candiotti back in '90 at Milwaukee took one into 8th. Colon, up in NY, took one to the 8th and then struck out side in 9th. I am sure I am missing someone.
