You have to keep everyone else in check. Vlad the Impaler will get his hits, but they're ok if they come with the bases empty.

This lineup reminds me a lot of the Yankees lineup of the late 90s before they loaded up on All-Stars at every position. Back when they had the likes of Knoblauch, O'Neil, Bernie Williams in his prime, Jeter, Brocsius, etc they used to work counts like crazy,getting pitchers to hit the 100 pitch mark in the 5th or 6th ining.
